As I keep building our HRT Testing Program here at Doctor’s Choice Pharmacy, I decided to take a closer look at something that’s already part of our daily work… our current patients who are using compounded hormone prescriptions.

I started pulling records and reaching out to each woman who’s been prescribed BHRT by her doctor — asking questions, listening to her journey, and learning from her personal experience.

One story stood out:

 A 48-year-old woman taking:

• DHEA 10 mg (compounded)

• Pregnenolone 50 mg (compounded)

• Testosterone cream 0.1 mg/mL

• Progesterone SR 50 mg

As I spoke with her, I realized how much I could learn just by listening — how she felt, what changed, what still needed support. It was eye-opening.

But I didn’t stop there…

I picked one of the prescriptions, Googled the prescriber’s name, and looked into their clinic. Turns out, they specialize in BHRT services! I reached out and introduced myself, not just as a pharmacist — but as a learner, a collaborator, and someone passionate about patient-centered hormone care.

That one call could turn into something bigger — a new referral relationship, a mentorship, or even a future partner in helping women feel their best.

This journey isn’t just about building a service — it’s about building connection, trust, and knowledge at every step.
