Hey Diary!
Today was all about being there for Mrs. A, a loving mom navigating her son’s ADHD journey. She came in worried about her son starting Concerta and how it might affect him. It’s moments like these that remind me why I love being a pharmacist – to offer support and guidance when families need it most.
Mrs. A shared her concerns about Concerta, wondering about possible side effects and how they might impact her son. I listened closely, knowing just how important it is to feel heard and understood during times like this.
I explained to Mrs. A that Concerta is like a superhero for ADHD, helping kids focus and stay on track. But, of course, she was worried about the side effects, like trouble sleeping or upset stomach.
I reassured her that while these side effects can happen, they usually fade away as the body gets used to the medication. I also shared some simple tips to help her son feel his best while taking Concerta, like making sure he eats well and sticks to a good bedtime routine.
By the end of our chat, Mrs. A seemed more relaxed, armed with knowledge and ready to support her son every step of the way. It’s moments like these that remind me why I’m here – to help families navigate their healthcare journey with confidence and ease.
