I finally received the results from my first saliva hormone test, and honestly… it was a moment of clarity and confirmation.

After months of unexplained fatigue, mood swings, migraines, and feeling like I wasn’t “myself,” these results helped connect the dots.

Let me walk you through what I found — and what this means for my next steps:

Cortisol: High in the Morning

My morning cortisol levels were elevated, which matches exactly how I’ve been feeling:
🔹 Tired but wired
🔹 Easily overwhelmed
🔹 Ongoing bone loss
🔹 Struggling to stay asleep

➡️ High cortisol is usually a sign of adrenal stress from emotional load, inflammation, or blood sugar fluctuations.
No surprise there — especially after reading The End of Stress as We Know It and applying Mel Robbins’ Let Them Theory to calm my mind.

Progesterone: Low in the Luteal Phase

While my estradiol was technically in the expected range, my progesterone was too low, creating a state of estrogen dominance.

This explains my:
✔️ Mood swings
✔️ Sleep disturbances
✔️ Water retention

📉 A healthy balance between progesterone and estradiol is crucial — and my ratio was far below the ideal.

DHEAS: Low

DHEAS is a precursor to both testosterone and estrogen — and mine was low for my age, suggesting long-term adrenal exhaustion.

What Happens Next?

To address the imbalances revealed in my test, I’m consulting with my provider to discuss compounded hormone therapy.

Once my provider reviews my case and writes a prescription, our pharmacy (with Joseph compounding!) will prepare:

  • Low-dose DHEA

  • Bioidentical progesterone

As with any compounded medication, a valid prescription from a licensed provider is required. 💊

This is personalized medicine at its best — based on my labs, my symptoms, and in collaboration with my healthcare provider.

What I’ve Already Started:

💊 Vitamin D (confirmed low in bloodwork)
💊 5-HTP + Ashwagandha
💊 Magnesium glycinate at night
🏋️‍♀️ Gym 3x/week for strength
🧘‍♀️ Mindset tools like Let Them Theory + breathwork

One of my biggest wins? For the first time in my life, I was able to fall asleep during the day — in a noisy house — after using my calming techniques. That was my body telling me it’s finally starting to reset.

If you’ve been feeling off, don’t ignore the signs.
It might not be “just life” — it could be your hormones trying to speak up.
